Sending Automatic Updates To Twitter and/or Facebook

• Visit the website Twitterfeed.com and sign up
• Once logged in click on “Create New Feed”
• Choose either Twitter (and the account) or Facebook
• Give name of the RSS Feed (e.g. Your Company name or keywords)
  • This name will only show for you in Twitterfeed, so make it descriptive
• Add the RSS feed URL to the settings (you can find this on your blog page - usually called post rss feed. right click and copy link location)
  
• Press “Test RSS Feed”
• You should see green text below the RSS Feed URL field: “Feed parsed OK”
• Go to Advanced Settings
• Adjust the update frequency
  • My recommendation: Every Hour and 1 new update(s) at a time
  • You can update less frequently, or even every 30 minutes, but think very hard if you want to increase the number of updates at a time
• Post content: For your blog feed, you probably want to choose “title only” if you’re posting to Twitter, “title & description” is good for Facebook
• Make sure “Post Link” check-box is checked
• Click on “Create feed”

There you have it, every post you make will go automatically to Twitter and Facebook. There are advanced uses for this and ways to expand but they are for another post.

Heres a method for promoting an affiliate offer or even your own website for reasonably competative terms using the power of Squidoo.

Although i have used Squidoo as an example you can replace it with a wordpress blog or even your own website. First you need to choose a keyphrase, to be very successful you will want the number of competative terms in Google to be between 50-100k but ideally under 50K when put into quotations. Such as “plumbers uk” etc.

First off create yourself a squidoo lens. You already have a keyword and or product to promote. Make sure your lens is giving people what they are looking for. If for example they are looking for “how to stop doors squeaking” then give some great advice on door squeaking and then lead into the affiliate product or link to your website. With this technique you will develop trust with the viewer before hitting them with the sales pitch. Make the lens pretty long and put some thought into it. Spend a couple of hours to get it right and include pictures etc.

Now you need some links to your lens/blog. So get going with standard SEO work such as writing articles for ezine and submitted to social bookmark sites, Digg etc.

For any blogs/squidoo’s etc that can be updated, update daily or at least 3 times per week. I know this sounds like a lot of work but its well worth it.

We all want our website on the first page of Google dont we? As you may already know Google looks at high authority and high traffic sites because if a website gets loads of traffic then its a site worth indexing high.

Now Yahoo is a very important site and more importantly google index’s yahoo content very quickly, sometimes within an hour, and using this technique will put you on page 1 or 2 of google dependent on keyword or keyword phrase targeted.

Now for the technique. First of all Register a yahoo email account and importantly create yourself an avatar (I have noticed non avatar accounts dont rank so well because they could have been automated)

Now go to Yahoo Answers and post a question including your keywords but not sounding too spammy otherwise it’ll just be deleted

Example Question title: I want to watch internet TV, anyone know where i can watch internet TV?

Question Details: I know you can watch internet tv on the web, but there are hundreds of internet tv sites and confuse me. Also many new internet tv sites are springing up but i dont want to dredge through all the crap. So where can i watch internet tv on my pc

In case you had’nt guessed my keyword is “internet tv”. Now wait an hour or so for google to index this question in its engine.

Now make a new email account with yahoo same as before but new name. You may also want to use a proxy to avoid deletion by Yahoo if questions and answers come from the same IP.

Now using the second account Answer your own question with an answer including a link to your website in the source area.

So as an example answer:-

Hey man ive watched every internet tv site in the world and i gotta tell you the good internet tv sites are few and far between. However i urge you to check out www.worldtvpc.com, for a great selection of internet tv channels.

There you have it, a great backlink from Google and Yahoo and you will stay top of google for a while before slowly sinking back down.

If the keyword your using is a very popular term then create an original headline so that google takes notice. So for internet tv say “Internet tv is killing me, who can help?”.

Google doesnt like the same or very similar headlines taking up the page so think origionally.

Some of you may already know this method which relates to creating a simple piece of software (very easy to do) and then submitting it to hundreds of shareware and freeware sites!

Free chatboxes are easily installed on websites and blogs to give a little user interaction. They are popular because they are Free and very easy to install by pasting a line of code into your site or blog.

So how do we take advantage of them? Well when you post a message your also asked for your url!! So make sure your name is your keyword and the url is the site you want to promote. Easy peasy.

Heres a trick you may know about, but ive seen people selling this idea for $50 plus so at least ive saved you a bit of dosh.

The idea behind getting a high PR link which results in higher serps and traffic of course is the Top Commentators area that is enabled on many blogs.

Lets look at a sample blog. Check out UberAffiliate.com

This is a PR4 blog and if you scroll down and look at the bottom left corner you will see the top commentators section, This area has a link back to the website of the top 10 commentators. So if you leave a comment on any post in this blog your score will go up.

As you can see, the highest comment score is 6 comments! The guys name is a link to his site straight from a PR4 blog!

Now this is amazing because if you make over 3 comments on this blog you can end up on the homepage with a link to your website. As you know a PR4 link could cost you $20 a month or more, so for a few minutes work you can save a small fortune.

Make sure you read the post and leave a useful or constructive comment though or you may get deleted. You can then replicate this on many other blogs resulting in a high PR for your site on the next Google update.

So why should you ‘ping’ and what does it mean?

After you have written your latest blog entry you hit the Publish now button and then what? In the traditional website days you would have to wait until people visited your site and spotted something new. You may even go and re-register your link to the search engines in the hope they would come and recrawl you again in the next few days or even weeks.

This is exactly what a web ping does. A web ping is a small request that goes out from your blog to alert services that are interested in your data that your content has changed. An aggregator is a place that brings together content from all different sources and arranges them into related categories depending on what their audience is looking for.

Services such as Technorati, Yahoo, Ping-o-matic etc all get notifications that your blog has changed, and they will then come and look at your blog to get the latest information.

This results in a greater audience for your information. You are telling the search engines that your site/blog has changed and needs to be recrawled.
